General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for the vacation home “Casa Magnolia” in Patras, Greece
- General
These rental conditions apply to all bookings and stays at Casa Magnolia Patras. The booking and reservation of the vacation home “Casa Magnolia” is made via our website www.casamagnolia.eu or through corresponding booking portals.
By booking, the guest accepts the following conditions. Payment for the stay in the vacation home is made in accordance with the agreed conditions and prices.
The full amount must be paid at the time of booking.
- Liability of the guest
The guest is liable for any damage caused to the property or furnishings of the vacation home during their stay. This applies to damage to furniture, appliances, walls, floors, doors, and any equipment in the vacation home caused by improper use or deliberate action by the guest or their fellow travellers.
- Notification of damage and repairs
Should any damage occur to the vacation home during the stay, the guest is obliged to report this to the Host immediately.
The guest must document the damage and enable the Host to arrange for repairs or restoration to the original condition.
- Payment of damages
In the event of damage caused by the guest, the damage shall be borne in full by the guest.
The repair costs or the loss in value of damaged items will be charged to the guest.
The Host reserves the right to claim these costs from the guest’s deposit, or if no deposit was made, directly from the guest.
The guest agrees to pay these costs within 14 days after receiving the invoice.
- Insurance
It is recommended that the guest takes out travel or liability insurance to cover damage to the accommodation.
The Host accepts no responsibility for damage that does not occur in the course of normal use of the accommodation.
- Cancellation and refund
The cancellation policies and refunds are subject to the specific booking conditions stated when the vacation home was reserved.
Guests who cancel within 24 hours will have the cancellation fee waived.
In the event of cancellation, the guest remains responsible for any damages incurred during the stay.
- Dealing with above-average electricity consumption and energy costs
Electricity consumption in the accommodation will be charged at the normal cost of use during the stay.
Excessive electricity consumption due to atypical or improper use (e.g., constant lights, appliances in standby mode, or continuous use of air conditioning without necessity) may result in additional costs.
In the event of above-average electricity consumption, the Host reserves the right to charge the guest an additional payment.
- Criteria for above-average electricity consumption:
If the electricity consumption during the stay is significantly higher than the average values for comparable stays, the Host reserves the right to charge an additional fee.
This applies to the uninterrupted use of energy-intensive appliances (e.g., air conditioning, heating, appliances in standby mode). - Measurement and calculation:
Electricity consumption is measured at the beginning and end of the stay. These values are compared with an average consumption for the corresponding period.
If excessive use is detected, a corresponding charge will be made.
- Responsibility of the guest
The guest undertakes to use the electricity resources provided responsibly to avoid excessive costs. Specifically, they are requested to:
- Turn off lights and appliances:
All lights and electrical appliances must be switched off when leaving the vacation home. - Heating and air conditioning:
Heating and air conditioning should only be used when necessary and with appropriate temperature control. It is requested that the appliances be switched off when not needed.
- Additional payment for above-average electricity consumption
Should there be an additional payment due to excessive electricity consumption, this will be charged to the guest within 14 days of departure.
The amount of the additional payment is based on the extra electricity costs incurred by the above-average consumption.
- Parents are liable for their children
The responsibility for the safety of children lies with the parents or legal guardians. They are liable for any damages caused by their children.
Exclusion of liability
The Host accepts no responsibility for injuries, accidents, or loss of personal property during the stay in the vacation home.
Final provisions
These rental conditions are part of the rental contract and can only be changed with the express consent of the Host. The guest agrees to the terms and conditions by booking and staying in the vacation home.
Data protection
Personal data will be treated in accordance with the applicable data protection laws.
Applicable law
These GTC and all related disputes are subject to Greek law.
House Rules – Casa Magnolia
Welcome! To ensure a pleasant stay for you and all other guests, please adhere to the following rules.
- General Behaviour
We want all guests to feel comfortable during their stay at Casa Magnolia. Please be considerate of the neighbours and other guests, avoiding unnecessary noise, especially during quiet hours (usually between 10:00 PM–7:00 AM and 2:00 PM–5:00 PM).
- Check-in and Check-out
– Check-in: From 3:00 PM
– Check-out: By 10:00 AM at the latest
- Use of Facilities
The facilities of Casa Magnolia may only be used for their intended purpose and with due care. Any changes, repairs, or remodelling within the house may only be made with the express consent of the host.
- Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside Casa Magnolia. Smoking is allowed only on the designated terrace or outdoor areas. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the provided bins.
- Pets
Pets are only allowed at Casa Magnolia by prior arrangement with the property manager. Please ensure that your pets do not cause any damage. The owner is liable for their pet and may be charged retrospectively for any damage caused.
- Responsibility for Damage
The guest takes full responsibility for any damage or loss to the accommodation or its equipment during their stay. This applies to damages caused by the guest themselves as well as fellow travellers or visitors. The guest agrees to report any damages immediately to the property manager and to cover the cost of repairing or replacing damaged items.
- Cleaning
Casa Magnolia will be thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. We ask that guests leave the house in a tidy condition upon departure. Final cleaning will be carried out by the host, but please dispose of the trash.
- Kitchen and Dishes
Please leave the kitchen and dishes clean and wash any used items before departure.
- Violation of House Rules
Violations of house rules, such as causing damage, ignoring the smoking ban, or overcrowding, may result in additional costs or even immediate termination of the stay without a refund. The host reserves the right to charge the guest’s credit card retrospectively for any damages or losses.
- Occupancy
Casa Magnolia may only be used by the guests specified in the booking. The maximum occupancy is legally binding and based on the booking details. In case of over-occupancy, the host has the right to terminate the lease immediately and demand penalty payments, which may amount to up to 1500 € per day depending on the season, especially during Carnival in Patras.
- Garden and Amenities
Please use the garden and other amenities with care and leave them in a tidy condition. Ensure that garden furniture and barbecues are turned off, cleaned, and covered after use. In case of rain, seat cushions and blankets must be protected and placed in the provided storage chest.
- Energy Consumption and Environmental Protection
*We kindly ask you to use electricity resources responsibly to minimize unnecessary costs and your ecological footprint. Please take note of the following:
- Turn off lights: When leaving the vacation home, please remember to turn off all lights and electrical appliances that are not needed.
- Regulate heating/air conditioning: Use heating and air conditioning as needed and avoid leaving them on at extreme temperatures when you leave the house.
- Kitchen appliances: Please ensure that kitchen appliances such as the stove or microwave are turned off or unplugged after use. *
- Compliance with Laws
Please comply with all local laws and regulations and respect the rights and privacy of neighbours.
- Medical Emergency Number
Dial 112 or 166 and request an ambulance. Contact your insurance company or health insurer immediately if you are referred to a medical facility for treatment.
Legal Validity
Both documents are legally binding as soon as the guest confirms the booking and/or enters the accommodation. It is recommended that the guest reads the conditions carefully in advance and contacts the property manager if they have any questions.
